FIA Central Asia Drifting Cup

The inaugural FIA Central Asia Drifting Cup — the FIA's first-ever regional drifting competition — at the Tilke-designed Sokol International Racetrack 76 km northwest of Almaty. Sporting regulations were approved by the FIA World Motor Sport Council; the event is promoted by the Kyrgyz Republic Auto Motorsport and Road Safety Federation with the authorisation of the Automotorsport Federation of Kazakhstan. Format is practice, qualifying and tandem elimination battles judged on line, angle, speed and style. Entries were open until 1 September with no cap on the field.
